Common Gull Larus canus is included as a good tonal match for cachinnans; values are for nominate canus. The michahellis values exclude the Atlantic island populations (atlantis), which have darker grey tones (from 7–7.5) than Iberian and Mediterranean birds. Values are based on Malling Olsen & Larsson (2003) and Jonsson (1998).
