Cachinnans - nest Lelystad 011

General remarks:

  • Eggs: Volume measured by Stonehouse (1964) and Spaans & Spaans (1975), which make comparison possible with data from Texel (Camphuysen pers comm 16.04.2020).
  • Nest 011 positioned below red-white beacon 59 at head of breakwater 2. One parent (male) uses beacon as look-out. Many Spoonbills in this section of the colony.
  • Certainty on ID in 2020, both parents are Caspian Gull cachinnans.
  • Certainty on ID in 2021, both parents are Caspian Gull cachinnans.
Female probably different bird from last year, it has less black in wingtip ( maybe due to ageing, though difference is obvious). Male is the same bird.
