Larus fuscus fuscus 7+cy C5KV, July 11-17 2003, Tampere, Finland (61.33N 24.59).

C5KV was ringed in Tampere, Finland (61,54N 23,98E); ringed as >3cy on August 14 1999 by Risto Juvaste. Hand when ringed: 435 mm.

Ringed as 3+cy at Tampere, Finland on August 14 1999, now in 7+cy. Adult fuscus with small size, slender bill, dark upper-parts which turn brown hued when older and worn, lack of moult in the scapulars, wing-coverts and the primaries and small white tips on the outer primaries, which wear away quickly. Note the mahogany hue on the innermost greater coverts and upper tertials, and compare with the fresh cold blackish grey median coverts.
