Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) 2cy: August 11 2003, Boulogne/Mer, France (50.42 N - 01.34 E).

The complete moult is almost finished. The recently moulted second generation primaries show small white tips. No old primaries left, new primaries: P1-P8 fully grown. All wing-coverts and tertials have been replaced and are very second generation-like. Again, the upper tertials are shed, an indication for the start of the partial moult in autumn.
