Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) 3cy, April 19 2002, Le Portel - Boulogne sur Mer, France (50.42 N - 01.34 E).

A bird with an ordinary pattern and colouration in second generation primaries. Note the pale outer-webs of the four inner primaries, outwards to p5 and p6 the primaries gradually become darker. 3cy Great Black-backed Gulls in spring still show an obvious dark second generation tail-band. By April all 3cy GBBG still have p1-p10.
