Great Black-backed Gull, 1N4, has been sighted a couple of times this year in the Ipswich, MA area. Suzanne Sullivan observed 1N4 at Sandy Point State Park in August. 1N4 was observed again at nearby Crane Beach on October 27 by Jim Berry. This bird was also seen at Sandy Point State Park in September 2009, so seems to like the area.
1N4 was originally banded as a chick in July 2007 and may return to Appledore to breed in the near future.
