Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) adult: September 24 2002, IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

Primary p6 levels with p5, while p10 still have to be shed. This bird is obviously moulting the wing-coverts as many outer and central greater coverts have been shed, exposing the secondaries underneath. Note the very fine head streaking on the new head feathers.
