Heuglin's Gull L heuglini

Boldly marked individual, comparable to the previous bird. The rectrices and outer secondaries have been replaced on the wintering grounds. The second generation tail is extensively dark, but this is not always the case in heuglini (see this bird). Note that this bird has replaced primaries as well. In the right wing, P1 and P4-6 are second generation, P2, P7-8 and P10 are juvenile; P9 is missing. In the other wing, P1-2 and P4-6 have been renewed. The new inner primaries are not as pale grey as in this individual.
