LBBG London FA 8370?, June 02 2003, Papegaaienbek, Maasvlakte, the Netherlands.

This British LBBG has a red orbital ring and a yellow iris with some fine black speckling. It has some limited black on the upper mandible and the red gonydeal spot extends on the upper mandible. P10 has a medium sized mirror and the complete moult hasn't started yet: P1 is still present by June 02 2003, although P1 and P2 appeared fresher than P3-P10. In this respect, Peter Stewart's comments on primary moult strategies of British LBBG are noteworthy. Compared to local LBBG from the colony, it appeared more slaty grey (slightly paler than Dutch birds).
