Lesser Black-backed Gull graellsii NLA 5.362.160 3CY, October 21 2004 Westkapelle, the Netherlands. Picture Pim Wolf.

3cy bird ringed in the Netherlands - Arnhem: NLA 5.362.160. Ringed as pullus on July 03 2001 at IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

From the continental "Dutch intergrade" colonies at the North Sea coast: medium grey upper-parts. Compare to adult L. marinus in the background. The complete moult is still not finished by late October with P7 fully grown and P10 still old second generation.
Note the brown P10 without a mirror, the dark centre on the central tertial and the old upper row of lesser coverts in the carpal edge, all indications for immaturity. Bare parts coloration immature as well with extensive head streaking.
