All of the banded WEGUs with plain color bands, found in California have been from the Southeast Farallon Islands. For every year, they start using a new colour for that cohort. This is a bird from year 'RED'. Hatch year 2004.
Individual code on the metal band: #2406-14050. Banded as a chick in 2004 near the Farallon Islands.

Although this is a 13th cycle bird, obvious grey mottling on the head in winter.
