American Herring Gull (smithsonianus) 2nd cycle (3CY) 1106-13873 June 06 2015, Manitowoc, IL. Picture: Amar Ayyash.

Band number 1106-13873, species: "Herring Gull", banded on June 24 2013 as fledgling at 3 NE JACK ISLAND, DOOR COUNTY, WISCONSIN, USA. Observed less than 100 miles from native island.

Complete moult started, with P1 new, P2-P3 missing, P4-P10 old 2nd generation primaries. Secondaries and tail all old 2nd gen feathers. Single grey feathers in covert panel (inner GC, few central MC) and differently patterned upper tertials have been retained from partial autumn moult.

Outermost MC dropped, which is in line with the ordinary sequence in the complete moult. Pretty saturated bare parts in early summer.
