IDed in the field as first winter Thayer's Gull. But a few points are odd: the bill looks pretty hefty compared to the small beady eye and probably more important, the upper scapulars have been replaced for 2nd gen feathers. Furthermore, if Thayer's, this individual is likely on the dark and well marked end of the spectrum for this age class.
