cachinnans-type 2CY, February 24 2001, Ashkar harbour, Bahrain.

Barabensis class II 1st winter or maybe cachinnans.

General jizz advocates cachinnans, with long legs, long pointed wings, high breast and slender long bill. Moult stage common for cachinnans, most 2nd generation scapulars already abraded, complete wing still juvenile, extreme wear in the coverts and tertials. Tail juvenile. Last moulted scapulars plain grey and darker than one would expect in ponticus, but maybe average for eastern nominate cachinnans (which is believed to be slightly darker in adult plumage), approaching heuglini.
