Larus fuscus fuscus 1cy (juvenile) C2J7 August 08 2002, Tampere, Finland (61.33N 24.59E).

A very fresh juvenile fuscus by early August, ringed in Finland C2J7, present at the Tampere dump. This bird is still begging at the parent at the dump. The fringes of the scapulars are very fresh with a buffish hue. Note the medium dark brown centres of the scapulars and the dark outer greater coverts. The fresh primaries are all dark towards the tip, without obvious pale crescents as can be seen in most argentatus juveniles.

C2J7, ringed as pullus at Pälkäne (61.35N 24.38E) on June 29 2002. After August 08 2002, CCUR wasn't seen again at Tampere dump despite daily visits and may have moved further south from that date on.
Recorded at Tampere: 2002-08-04, 2002-08-07, 2002-08-08.
