Larus fuscus intermedius / fuscus, August 04 2002, Stockholm, Sweden.
A slightly stronger built, larger and more powerful bird with a pronounced angular bill and head, somewhat paler grey on the upper-parts as well. The brown hue may indicate it in fact is an adult fuscus, but it remains to be seen whether it may also apply to adults of some intermedius populations as well. In this bird the brown hue is slightly washed out, not as intense red-brown, or "mahogany brown" as in most fuscus.
