Gulls in NW Europe

Herring Gull sub-adult, October 11 2011, Scheveningen, the Netherlands.
Not ringed, but plumage suggests 3cy bird of local origin, with all white tail and much grey in upperparts. P8 fully grown. Could still be 3cy argentatus (e.g. from Denmark), but also a bird one year older, in 4cy (P9-P10 and secondaries should be indicative, but not seen here).
