Fourth-calendar year European Herring Gull, moulting to fourth-winter plumage (fourth prebasic moult). The outer primaries are still growing, resulting in a short primary projection. The head, neck and chest are heavily streaked. Black markings on the bill divide the light pink base with the yellow tip while the gonys spot is starting to colour orange. The iris is light. The tail still shows some black markings.
