LBBG Dutch intergrade PV9 3cy, October 21 1999, Westkapelle, the Netherlands.

3cy LBBG ringed at Maassvlakte, the Netherlands as a pullus on July 12 1997. Picture by Pim Wolf.

This represents the average 3cy plumage by October, with all the wing-coverts, tertials and scapulars pretty adult-like. The fresh third generation primaries show only small tips and the p10 mirror is largely confined to the outer web. The tail is all white. Note the bill colour and the extensive streaking on ear-coverts and breast, creating an executioner's hood, typical for fresh 3cy plumage in October.
