Photo 15: 2cy LBBG, July 6 2001, IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

A barred individual, showing anchor pattern on the scapulars, which still have buffish centres (apparently they are very fresh). Due to extensive wear, the juvenile greater coverts are reduced to single shaft streaks. These abraded feathers certainly had to be replaced, so many have been shed and an entire new 2nd generation greater covert bar will appear within weeks.
