Photo 16: 2cy LBBG, July 6 2001, IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

Probably an intermedius LBBG by jizz and very dark fresh scapulars. Actually, quite some 2cy LBBGs depicted in the July Section are believed to refer to the race intermedius but without certainty from e.g. ring-data this is hard to confirm. Here, p7 has been shed and p5 is growing resulting in a moult score of 27 (is average). In all respects (barred pattern, moult stage in the coverts, moult strategy in the coverts, the old tail and much marking on the head) this presumed intermedius resembles a local Dutch intergrade LBBG. Some intermedius may appear all white on under-parts and head.
