An advanced individual. Primaries from P5 inwards with sharply demarcated white tips.
Eye and bill may suggest 3rd winter, but the absence of a mirror and broad
white tips to the inner primaries, normally excludes this age. Also, the
coverts and tertials contain much brown. Some LBBG show some white
coverts, in this case a few median coverts. In the adult summer section
you will find a picture of an individual with white primary coverts. Such
birds are mainly sub-adults, where aberrant pigmentation seems to occur
more often.
