(3 images) 14cy LBBG intermedius NOS 4164893, September 02 2003, Westkapelle, the Netherlands (51°33'0''N, 3°25'0''E)
Adult LBBG intermedius with P6-P10 still old, and P3 fully grown. All rectrices and secondaries are still old. This bird was ringed in Norway, Stavanger 4164893. Ringed on 04 July 1990 as pullus at HELLERSØY, SØGNE, V-AGDER, NORWAY (58.01N 07.49E). The slender jizz indicates a female. Considering several pretty dark ringed Stavanger birds seen on the same day, this is a rather pale (still medium) grey bird. Together with the primary moult, moult in the wing-coverts has started as well and the differences between the old brown and new grey feathers are obvious between the median and the lesser coverts. The scapulars are a mix of old brown and new dark grey feathers as well. Note the snowy white head and extensive red gonydeal spot.
