Photo 11: LBBG adult?, September 17 2001, Vuurtorenvlakte Maasvlakte, the Netherlands.
Probably an adult intermedius LBBG but it's hard to exclude 4cy and 5cy. Note e.g. the relatively small mirror on p10, p9 lacking a mirror, the upper tertial without a white tip and tertial #2 with the white tip confined to the inner web.
Nevertheless, bare parts coloration advocates adultness and there are no obvious signs of immaturity in the wing coverts.
P8-p10 are still old.
From September onwards, the typical smaller birds, with elongated wings and neckless, short-legged jizz reappear. These birds probably originate from Scandinavian intermedius colonies.
