An example of how important it is to view both sides of a
gull. The tertials, the inner 3 greater coverts and inner median covert row left and right
are at a different moult stage.
This bird falls in the second type LBBG, with a white head and under-parts
combined with barred and anchored wing coverts. The wing covert moult has been
started very recently; note the extensive white fringes on the inner coverts.
