This bird has largely moulted its upper and under-parts, prior to northbound migration. Although the renewal of the median coverts has nearly been finished, the lesser coverts are actively moulting. In this individual, the bleaching and abrasion of old coverts is reduced. Considering the date, primaries appear relatively black (note the fresh white fringes at the tips of primary coverts and P4-5). Bare parts have acquired adult-like pigmentation; bill with some black and bright red on the gonys, while the legs are pale yellow.
