The moult strategy in 3cy LBBG might fall in two categories. 

• randomly moulted third generation grey coverts and scapulars between the abraded brown second generation feathers. 
• third generation grey feathers forming a grey saddle normally accompanied by a grey median covert wing-bar. This grey median covert row may sometimes consist of old coverts as well, as in this picture.

Here, the bare part coloration fit average second summer LBBG.
