(4 images) Lesser Black-backed Gull graellsii E264, April 2002, 2003 & 2004, Missouriweg - ECT, Maasvlakte, the Netherlands (51.59N 04.02E).
An adult female ringed, left orange E264, ringed as a pullus early July 1995. Note the small white mirror on p10 and the relatively small white tips on the outer primaries in this individual. Some of the upper scapulars are slightly worn at the fringes in 2002.
Summer 2003, this breeding site has turned into a container transfer area and most birds didn't succeed in breeding. In 2004, E264 moved a couple of 100 meters into another colony, which in turned has been claimed and this colony too has been drained in the breeding season, destroying over 1,000 nests. The bottom image shows E264 on the barren sand dessert of the future container terminal.
