An old Dutch aluminum ring. Ringed July 09 1989, ECT-Maasvlakte as pullus. The primary tips look pretty neat, but the inner wing-coverts and the tertials are very abraded. Moult is completely suspended and there are no moult gaps visible. This ring is almost lost and the inscription is hardly readable. Compare this adult with a bird ringed the same day, 13 years ago! This female was still present on May 31 2002.

This female again returned to the exact same spot
it occupied last year. It has a red orbital ring, a yellow iris without
speckling. It has no black on the bill and the red gonydeal spot extends on the
upper mandible.
It is most probably a female, judged in direct comparison with its partner and
begging for food (code V2). It has 3 pulli on June 02 2003. P10 has a large
mirror and the complete moult hasn't started yet: P1 is still present by June 02
2003.
