A sub-adult winter LBBG with a Dutch ring: EV65, born at Maasvlakte, the Netherlands in spring 1997 (ringed as pullus June 21 1997). A pretty straightforward 4cy bird with a few hints of it's immaturity:- the mirror on P10 is rather small;
- the centre of some of the central tertials have a distinct black pattern;
- the carpal edge contains a few brown centred feathers;
- the tail has a few tiny black spots in the central retrices;
- the bill-band is well-developed and extremely obvious if it would be in full adult plumage.
