Arrested moult: p7 new and p9-10 old, bleached pale brown and very abraded. P8 is still growing. The new primaries P1-P7 have new grey-white tips. This immature bird is probably in 3cy with a very strong brown hue on the upper-parts.
The outer secondaries are missing and growing: S1-S7 are missing and the remaining secondaries are still old. The outer rectrices are old: R4-R6 have a brown pattern. The inner tail-feathers are missing and growing. The under wing coverts are barred, vermiculated with the pale basis contrasting with the grey-brown tips.
Greater coverts #1-5 are new, grown; #6-8 are
growing; #9 and further outwards are grown.
Median coverts are all new and fully grown.
The lower lesser coverts #1-4 are new, grown; #5 is missing; #6 is old; #7 is
missing; #8 is old; #9 is missing; #10 and the coverts further outwards are
growing inwards (in descending order).
The lesser coverts are currently moulted, with 25% missing and the upper row of
the lesser coverts very abraded.
Most of the scapulars are present (90-100%) and are a mix of old brown and new (20%) dark grey feathers.
The legs are pale pink; the iris is pale with some dark pigmentation; the bill has a dark band at the gonydeal angle.
