(3 images) LBBG intermedius JM79 , Breskens, the Netherlands, October 19 2002 Ringed as 5cy+ female in Norway at Steinsoy, Mandal, Vest-Agder on June 13 2002. Primary moult stage: P7 already longer than P6 but not yet fully grown. P9-P10 are still old. Note the large primary steps and note that P6 falls equal with the tail tip. All coverts and tertials are new, lacking the extensive brown hue except a few coverts in the carpal edge. The red gonydeal spot is confined to the lower mandible and the iris is speckled with black. Head streaking is concentrated on the ear-coverts and runs from the crown down to the hind-neck, not reaching the side of the breast. At least the inner secondaries are still old, but all the tail-feathers are new. A single scapular still shows the brown hue of the old feather and one lower scapular is missing. Active moult is limited, prior to migration.
