Banded as 1st cycle, in winter in February 2014, in St. John's, Newfoundland (LAT: 47.80833; LON: -52.80833). Detailed banding data pending.

Obviously not fully adult, with dark markings in tail and much brown vermiculation on many wing-coverts. Also broad dark band on bill. Secondaries visible below the greater coverts: adult-like grey base with bold white tip. Limited pigmentation in outerwing.
