Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 2CY, September 22 2002, Etaples / Boulogne-sur-Mer, NW France. 

2CY michahellis which started the partial moult in the wing-coverts. Tertials #1-2 are new, #3-6 are old second generation. Greater coverts #1 is new and #2 is growing. The complete median covert row is being replaced with two feathers growing. Lower lesser coverts #1 and #5 and outwards are replaced. In the lesser coverts about 5 feathers are replaced. 25% of the scapulars and mantle are grey and another 25% has grey-based centres with a sub-terminal bar. Five lower scapulars are missing.
