Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 2CY, July 30 2001, Boulogne-sur-Mer, NW France.

As in many michahellis in July, this individual is showing pale, colourless legs and a black bill. The head has been moulted to 2nd winter. The tail feathers were all shed in one wave and are now growing simultaneously. Primary moult score: p10 is still juvenile, p7 is full-grown. The outer greater coverts have a rather dense variegated pattern.
