Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 3CY, January 04 2002, Le Portel, France (50.42N,1.34E).

Not particularly the average michahellis, as this bird has an injured leg and therefore may show a delayed plumage. The last moulted wing-coverts have nice white fringes as can be seen in the median coverts, the second greater covert and in the central lesser coverts. The head is nearly all-white and the tip of the bill turns white and is more immature than in most other 3CY birds. The tail is completely second generation. The scapulars are most grey, but still some older, barred scapulars are visible. The colour of soft parts is still very immature.
