Plumage pattern and late moult in scapulars in 1CY July indicate Herring Gull.
Herring Gull, note:
- compact jizz, short winged,
- tibia have sort impression,
- notched fringes at tertials,
- rounded head with stubby bill (compare to resting immature Caspian Gull, left),
- greater coverts with deep notched pattern, also in outer feathers, and lacking bold white tips,
- scapular region still completely juvenile by last day of July.
