Larus armenicus 2cy, 24 August 2010, Maagan Michael, Israel. Picture: Amir Ben Dov.
Bird in active complete moult, but note the double moult wave, which is not known to occur in armenicus (or elsewhere within the michahellis-group)! P1 fully grown, P2 halfway its final length, P3 missing, P10 still has to grow a few inches.
Central tail-feathers growing, the new tips just visible. New secondaries with broad dark centres, typical for 2nd gen feathers.
