Larus armenicus 3cy, 15 December 2010, Maagan Michael, Israel. Picture: Amir Ben Dov.
This 3cy individual is difficult to age. Tiny mirror on P10 fits 3cy, but there are still much blackish markings on inner primaries (P1-P2 not adult-like, as is often the case in 3cy). There are also markings on the centres of the secondaries, but by far not as much as in typical 2nd gen feathers; here it is limited to the shaft streaks and outer-webs. Note also much black in the visible outer tail-feather.
In general, plumage-wise a retarded bird, much alike a 2cy.
