Larus armenicus 4cy, 25 March 2011, Ashdod, Israel. Picture: Amir Ben Dov.
Sub-adult, likely 4cy bird but advanced 3cy also possible. Third generation inner primaries normally are adult-like grey in 4cy birds, while they are brownish with sub-terminal markings in 3cy spring armenicus. The pattern on secondaries also indcates 3rd gen feathers rather than 2nd gen. Still, a very immature looking bird, with much black in the tail and on the greater primary coverts. Note also the mirror on P10.
