Larus armenicus adult, 18 August 2010, Maagan Michael, Israel. Picture: Amir Ben Dov.
Adult in active complete moult. P4 fully grown and with sub-terminal black markings on the outer web, P5 at 2/3 of the final length, P6 tip visible, P7-P10 still old (score P4/P7).
Primary moult in the inner primaries complete, which commonly goes hand-in-hand with extensive moult in the wing-coverts. Here: the central median coverts are regrowing and the central and outer greater coverts are dropped. The inner greater coverts still present. This exposes much of the outer secondaries, and in fact you can even see the white bases of the feathers.
