Wing-tip pattern in adult male (sexed by PCR): mirror only on P10 (see also Type I in Fig. 18). About 80% of the breeding birds of the Tuz and Van Golu showed a mirror on P10 only (n = 232, birds scored from randomly photographed alarming adults in flight).
Note also that both P9 and P10 show much black on the inner webs with a gradual transition, and both primaries lack a clear delimited pale 'tongue' on the inner webs (which is commonly found in barabensis, see Fig. 16 & 17).
