LBBG 3cy, April 16 2001, Maasvlakte, the Netherlands.
In most 3cy LBBG, moult strategy follows a standard sequence: mantle and scapulars form a grey saddle on the back. Normally first coverts to be moulted are the median coverts. Sometimes lesser coverts are moulted randomly, but in most cases moult starts with a few or single innermost coverts.
In this plumage, primaries are black without tips and both bill and legs show already pale yellow patches.
