Lesser Black-backed Gull intermedius SVS 90A72772 3CY, September 17 2017, Katwijk, the Netherlands.

A 3cy intermedius from Sweden, ringed Stockholm 90A72772, ringed as pullus in 2015.

P5/P7. The secondaries are still old second generation. The tail-feathers are all present, left R4-R5 2nd gen like, right R4-R6 2nd gen like. Central recs white, probably 3rd gen, but worn.

The bill has black on both mandibles and the red gonydeal spot is confined to the lower mandible. The bill is pale yellow. The orbital ring is rather dark red. The white-yellow iris has obvious speckling. There is some fine dark streaking on the crown and in the lower neck. Most scapulars and the mantle look medium grey, with a brown hue on the older scapulars. Most wing-coverts have the same colour, especially the outer median coverts, lower lesser coverts and innermost greater coverts. These coverts were moulted in the early stage of complete moult cycle. The central greater coverts are missing and the second generation secondaries underneath are exposed. Inner GC5-11 are very old and worn, probably 2nd gen. The legs are pale yellow.
