Lesser Black-backed Gull (graellsii & intermedius)

A ringed 3cy LBBG in the Zeebrugge colony showing the average upper-part coloration for 3cy along the coast of the southern North Sea. The grey saddle formed by the grey scapulars is still obvious. Tertials #1 and #2 have been replaced by more adult-like feathers. Grey feathers can also be found in the inner lower lesser and outer median coverts.
Probably ringed mid-July 2001 at the colony of Zeebrugge, Belgium (51.21N 03.11E).
