LBBG 3cy/sub-adult October 22 2001, Westkapelle, the Netherlands.

An odd LBBG, probably in 3cy plumage. While resting, many features suggest at least 4cy, but the head (especially the bill) strongly suggests 3cy. Note the small white tips on the fresh primaries p6-p8. P8 is full-grown and p9-10 are old. Primary moult is clearly arrested. Note the extensive white tip of p10 at the far wing, not really shaped as a mirror. Such a white underside of P10 is found commonly in 3cy birds.
