Larus armenicus 3cy, 25 March 2011, Ashdod, Israel. Picture: Amir Ben Dov.
Second generation primaries are brownish with sub-terminal markings on the inner primaries in 3cy spring armenicus; third generation inner primaries normally are adult-like grey in 4cy birds. The pattern on secondaries are illustrative for 2nd gen feathers and are reminiscent of juvenile feathers in a way: large dark centres with a small white tip. Note also that there is no mirror on P10 and note the pattern on the outer 5 greater primary coverts, when compared to this 4CY BIRD.
