Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus)

Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) 1cy: October 01 2001, Boulogne sur Mer, France (50.42 N - 01.34 E).

Note the second generation scapulars which have a brown-grey base and anchor pattern. Note the missing lesser coverts, the greater coverts and lower tertials. The tertials show very abraded fringes; the pale notches are worn away.
