Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) 2cy: May 17 2002, Le Portel - Boulogne sur Mer, France (50.42 N - 01.34 E).

Another mid-May 2cy Great Black-backed Gull. The complete median covert row has been dropped and in the rectrices the outer tail-feathers have been replaced for second generation feathers. Note the simple pattern on the second generation scapulars and the fresh feathers in the lowest row of lower scapulars.
