Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) 3cy, September 30 2001, Boulogne sur Mer, France (50.42 N - 01.34 E).

The general appearance in autumn: a dark blackish saddle created by the replaced scapulars and mantle, old variegated tertials, greater coverts and lesser coverts. The new inner median coverts are completely black. Primary p9 is at the length of p8 and p10 has been shed. Note the bill coloration.
